CIEE announces relaunch of its Global Internship Conference (GIC)
WYSE News | February 9, 2023

Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) is excited to announce the re-launch of its Global Internship Conference (GIC).

Started in 2012, the annual GIC convenes global leaders in higher education, industry, and government to drive learning, action, and innovation around the critical task of preparing young people for a global workplace through global work integrated learning experiences. This is where knowledge is shared, ideas are born, connections are made, and dialogue is elevated to advance student success, public diplomacy and economic development.

GIC 2023 will be in Berlin, Germany from 21-23 June with pre-conference workshops taking place on 20 June. It is already shaping up to be the most exciting GIC ever as we prepare to gather in person with friends and colleagues, old and new. Centering on the theme of “Global Experiential Learning in a Borderless World”, GIC 2023 will convene university leaders and administrators, global education advocates and practitioners, policy makers, industry partners, thought leaders on the future of work, and students. These diverse voices will engage in discussions and debates on the critical role of work-based experiential learning in preparing young people for a global workplace in the wake of the pandemic. New for GIC 2023, we will host a Student challenge competition which culminates with three student teams earning a free trip to Berlin to compete in the Finals and presenting their pitches at GIC’s closing plenary.
