A collection of resources on the COVID-19 outbreak
WYSE Travel Confederation recognises that members are facing challenging times because of the reaction to the outbreak of COVID-19 by both the general public and governments around the world.
The purpose of this page is to provide our members with reliable information to help with planning and decision-making.
What is WYSE doing?
- We are researching the impact of COVID-19 on the travel and tourism sector and publishing survey findings. We will continue to measure the impact on the industry to ensure that we have the necessary data to be able to represent the industry needs to governments around the world.
- We are pulling together a number of tools that members can use to request support from governments. These include resources such as how to find relevant information within governments and NTOs, letters of support and financial aid request templates.
- We are holding panel meetings with representative members to ensure dialogue across the industry.
- We are updating members and the wider industry through our weekly member newsletter, social media platforms and calls with members.
- We are monitoring industry developments and maintaining this page as an information portal.
- We are holding regular webinars on both the impact of COVID-19 and other relevant topics.
- We are liaising with associations and industry bodies for joint opportunities and information sharing.
WYSE calls on governments
to support the youth, student
and educational travel sector
We have defined a 10-Point Youth Travel Recovery Plan, calling on governments to take action in light of the current pandemic. The Plan includes petitions such as extending furlough schemes beyond ‘lockdown’ periods and reducing tourism taxes for the sector.
