AIFS Abroad named 2022 GoAbroad Innovation Awards finalist
WYSE News | May 3, 2022

WYSE Travel Confederation member, AIFS Abroad, is pleased to announce that it is a top 5 finalist for the Innovation in Diversity Award in the 2022 GoAbroad Innovation Awards.

The Innovation in Diversity Award recognises efforts to expand international educational opportunities to traditionally underrepresented groups. Last year, AIFS launched the AIFS Plan of Action for Access, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (AIDE).

This multifaceted plan focuses on six key areas of the study abroad experience: Communications, Policies, Processes, Programmes, Resources and Staff and Training. Each theme has corresponding goals and accountability checkpoints to stay focused on the goal of making international education programmes accessible to more students.

GoAbroad states that ‘these awards acknowledge institutions, organisations and individuals moving the field forward and commend leaders in the community for their efforts to go beyond the conventional.’

Winners will be selected by the GoAbroad Innovation Award Academy, a committee of international education professionals. The Innovation Awards are presented annually during the GoAbroad reception at the national NAFSA conference. This year, the GoAbroad reception will be held on 2 June in Denver, Colorado.

Congratulations to all the finalists for their dedication to progress. AIFS commends The Cyril Taylor Charitable Foundation, a finalist for the Innovation in Philanthropy Award. Sponsored by the GoAbroad Foundation. This award honours organisations that demonstrate innovative corporate responsibility and philanthropic commitments. AIFS is pleased to be an integral part of The Cyril Taylor Charitable Foundation, which received this nomination for funding scholarships related to diversity, equity and inclusion.

AIFS Abroad was previously awarded the GoAbroad award for Innovation in Alumni Engagement in 2020. The organisation aims to continue to pioneer the field of international education and offer trailblazing programmes to students. Â
