WYSE Webinar: The impacts of COVID-19 on the youth travel industry
Youth travel, like the rest of the travel industry, has been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Findings from WYSE Travel Confederation’s COVID-19 Travel Business Impact Surveys indicate that business is ten times worse than at the lowest point of the 2008-2010 global financial crisis, which saw a 6% reduction in business. In the latest WYSE Webinar, Professor Greg Richards, WYSE Travel Confederation, analysed data from the March and April surveys and discussed issues and trends that are arising from the pandemic.
Watch the full webinar for more takeaways on:
– Change in demand across sectors and world regions
– Top concerns and actions taken in response to COVID-19
– Staff reductions, location closures and financial solvency
– Business outlook for youth travel
– Issues and trends arising as the pandemic evolves.
WYSE Travel Confederation is repeating the COVD-19 Travel Business Impact Series from 1 to 11 May 2020. As with past travel business crises that we have monitored, it is important for the industry to come together and take its collective temperature, so to speak. Given that youth aged 15 to 29 represent 23% of international arrivals, all travel businesses, regardless of their focus on youth-tailored travel products, are welcome to participate in the survey.
