Welcome to our newest member – Sichuan YZS Education Administration

Sep 6, 2018

Interview with TAN HUI, Vice General Manager

Tell us your story. How did Sichuan YZS Education Administration get started?

My colleague and I have been working for international cultural exchange programs for over 20 years. We sent thousands of primary and middle school students for short-term exchange programs, mainly to the US, UK, Australia and Asian countries. We also sent older students to study abroad in high schools, colleges and universities. In recent years, we recognised it was very important to improve our traditional courses through advanced technology. We then met Mr Jing, who is the Director of a scientific and technical corporation. From there, we created YZS Education.

What makes Sichuan YZS Education Administration different from your competitors?

I think close attention to what students can benefit from the exchange programs, efficient and dedicated team work and advanced marketing make us different from our competitors.

What is your favourite success story from your organisation?

We had a very successful beginning to our business. We recruited a lot more students in a short space of time, which was beyond our expectations. We had very high rates of participant satisfaction and were appreciated for their trust in us. Some of our students are looking forward to participating in our programs again.

What can we expect to see from Sichuan YZS Education Administration in the future?

More destinations, various programs and higher satisfaction from our students and partners.

Which trends do you see in educational and active youth travel?

More acknowledged, flexible and attentive service will be very popular in educational and active youth travel.

How do you work to ensure the health and safety of young travellers involved with Sichuan YZS Education Administration?

Health and safety are our top priorities. We have strict standards and procedures to ensure the health and safety of participants involved in our programs. Firstly, we only choose safe destinations and activities for students. Secondly, we carefully check students’ background references. Thirdly, we offer tutorial orientations about program details which are necessary for all students. Fourthly, we send carefully selected English speaking escorts with rich experience for supervising the groups. And finally, we work with worldwide professional insurance agents to deal with medical issues.

What was your motivation to join WYSE Travel Confederation?

Our team worked with some WYSE members previously and we knew WYSE provide a global leading communication platform for the youth travel industry. We are looking forward to meeting more of the members and work together.

Have you attended a WYSE Travel Confederation event? (World Youth and Student Travel Conference, STAY WYSE, WYSE Exchange Australia, WETM-IAC) If so, what was your experience with the event?

We haven’t yet. WYSTC 2018 in Edinburgh will be the first time.

What is an industry challenge your organisation is facing at this time?

It is a big challenge for us to build the students’ and their families’ confidence in worldwide safety at this time.
