Professional experience:
I am currently the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director for 3 Irish incorporated entities, 2 UK incorporated entities and sit on the Board of 1 Cayman Islands incorporated entity – all entities are engaged in the travel industry. I have extensive experience of leading organisations through periods of strategic change.

In addition, I have worked in most areas of finance. Most recently, I held the position of Financial Controller of nib Travel Services Europe in Cork, Ireland prior to taking up the CEO role which gave me great insight into working in a growing company. In this role, I was responsible for all finance matters and effectively operated as CFO due to the small size of the team.

Prior to this I was based in London and worked in the Group Corporate Centres for two FTSE 100 insurers – Aviva and RSA. At Aviva, I worked as a Senior Finance Manager across a number of strategic finance positions including strategic reporting, financial planning and analysis and investor relations. In addition, I worked closely with mergers and acquisition (Aviva underwent a divestment program), the Group CFO (preparing scripts for presentation to investors and Analysts), Group Risk and Compliance (implementing robust risk and control frameworks) and the Remuneration Committee (reviewing and defining performance metrics against bonus and LTIP incentive programs). All of this work was focused on strategic analysis of the company’s performance and then translating this into a forward looking three year strategy and plan. All of these roles required extensive engagement with the Group Executive including the preparation and presentation of Board materials to a high standard.

At RSA, I worked as a Finance Manager with responsibility for financial reporting (producing the Group Annual Report and Accounts, focusing on the balance sheet and production of all associated analysis and notes) and regulatory reporting (leading the implementation of the most significant regulatory change of the last 20 years, Solvency II). In addition, I led the divestment of RSA’s Brazilian and Argentinian business, training the local accounting teams in the requirements of disposal accounting. All of these roles required preparing documents and papers for presentation to the Group Board and Audit Committee. Finally, I spent 6 months as Financial Controller of RSA’s Irish business. In this role, I sat on the Audit Committee and chaired the Management Risk Committee.
