Professor Greg Richards will be leading the hour-long session, which will focus on the relevance of the Asian traveller to the travel industry, significant changes to traditional aspirations and reasons for travelling, changes in the distances young people are travelling and analysis of the effect of special offers on youth travellers.

He will answer questions, including:

Which new destinations are rapidly being developed in response to growing demand?
What are the major global hot-spots in the coming years?
Which regions are growing resiliently in spite of global challenges?
Professor Richards also took questions from the audience during the session.

Greg is Professor of Placemaking and Events at Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.
He has worked on projects for WYSE Travel Confederation, the UNWTO, the OECD, numerous national governments, national tourism organisations and municipalities, and he has extensive experience in tourism research and education, with previous posts at London Metropolitan University (UK), Universitat Roviria I Virgili, Tarragona (Spain) and the University of the West of England (Bristol, UK).
