Session description

Travellers of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities face challenges that are often not understood or even addressed by the industry. Roll up your sleeves and get your questions ready. This action-oriented session will help you understand and address those challenges!


Ed Salvato (pronouns he/him) is co-founder of HospitableMe, which offers Inclusive hospitality training to major travel, tourism & hospitality brands around the globe. Ed also runs the LGBTQ Travel Pavilion at the NY Times Travel Show and is the emcee at ITB’s Pink Pavilion. He’s co-author of the Handbook of LGBT Tourism & Hospitality Marketing: A Guide for Business Practice by Columbia University Press. Previously, Ed was editor in chief of Out Traveler magazine. Ed is an adjunct instructor in marketing at the New York University Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality currently teaching a class in customer relationship management.
