About

Despite terrorism and political unrest, young people resiliently keep on travelling. Considering the unsettled times in which we are living, it is important for organisations operating in the youth travel industry to take a step further in preparing travellers before their journey and guaranteeing their safety and security when abroad.

The 2019 Best Travel Safety Initiative Award looks to recognise those organisations that proactively seek to keep their customers safe, whether it be through implementation of best practices, toolkits or risk management plans or the creation of preparatory educating tools (such as seminars, workshops or online platforms).

Judging criteria

The panel of judges will evaluate submissions based on the following criteria:

  • Aims/objectives of the safety plan/strategy
  • Overall implementation of the plan/strategy
  • Effectiveness of the plan/strategy on measurable results

Eligibility

An organisation can submit multiple entries for the award.
