Outstanding Volunteer Project
Recent WYSE Travel Confederation research has highlighted the unique benefits international volunteer projects have on communities around the world – be it environmental, humanitarian, social or educational.
The 2018 Outstanding Volunteer Project award looks to recognise and showcase outstanding volunteer projects/programmes in this growing industry segment. Key characteristics for winners of this award include an emphasis on sustainability, responsibility and best practices.
The judging panel evaluates submissions based on the following criteria:
- Standards of operation and safety policies
- Financial and environmental sustainability

- Personal development of volunteers
The Outstanding Volunteer Project Award is open to all organisations (senders/receivers) in the volunteering industry.
An organisation can submit multiple entries for the award.

WYSE Travel Confederation will shortlist a maximum of five entries per category, by reviewing the information provided on the application forms.
A panel of judges, all of whom are industry experts, will assess shortlisted applications and score each one based on the established judging criteria. The highest scoring application will be the winner.
Judges are asked to declare any business connection with shortlisted organisations.
