Youth Hub has over 30 years of experience in managing, developing and coordinating student programmes in educational institutions and international organisations. It has built a long and successful career in supporting the academic and professional development of young people, leading projects that promote inclusive education, cultural exchanges, and preparation for the labour market. With dedication and a long-term vision, Youth Hub has been a pioneer in bringing to Albania some of the most impactful international programmes for young people.

What inspired you to bring international exchange programmes to Albania back in the early 1990s?

Until 1990 Albania was isolated due to the regime in power. No one dared, at least, to think about anything from abroad. After 1990 Albania was transformed into a democratic country, and it was only then that it had communication with other countries. As I had finished my university studies for the English language, I was ready to communicate, and it was just from a contact in the US that I learnt about exchange programmes. Afterwards I learnt more about HIGH SCHOOL EXCHANGE, which is the first exchange programme for Albania. I did my best to bring the programme for the first time in my country.

How have your programmes contributed to Albania’s global image and cultural exchange?

Exchange programmes have been a powerful tool in Albania’s post-communist transformation, not just as educational opportunities, but as mechanisms for diplomatic outreach, cultural diplomacy, and socio-economic development. By facilitating people-to-people contact and international cooperation, they have helped Albania integrate more deeply into the global community.

What impact have you seen on participants’ professional development after completing these experiences?

Participants of exchange programmes often experience significant professional development after completing their exchange experiences. These impacts are both immediate and long-term, and they span across skills acquisition, career opportunities, and global engagement.
