Gap 360 is a UK company based in Kent, and a leading specialist in travel for young people aged 18 to 30s. We offer over 200 trips in more than 50 destinations, and cover everything from adventure trips and group tours to gap years, volunteering projects, working holidays, and learning a new skill or language abroad. Gap 360 was founded in 2011 by its three directors: James Jeremy, Jane McLellan-Green and David Stitt. After leading the UK’s largest gap year organisation from 2003 to 2009, our founders used their 60 years of combined industry experience to create Gap 360.

The team at Gap 360 has celebrated incredible achievements over the years and was delighted to announce that in October 2024, they joined the Intrax family. Intrax is a California-based company that specialises in changing lives through travel and cultural exchanges.

Your organisation has been operating since 2011; how has the company evolved and adapted to the global challenges facing youth travel since then?

The only significant challenge we faced was the COVID pandemic. As for the company’s evolution, our directors have been active in the youth travel industry since 2003. Over the years, we’ve gained extensive experience and insight, enabling us to stay agile and responsive to change and emerging trends. We invest heavily in our staff to ensure outstanding customer service. As a result, our customers trust us to deliver exceptional experiences—many return to travel with us again or recommend us to friends and family. Social media has also played a key role in our growth, helping us stay connected with our community, keep up with the latest trends, and offer trips to destinations that are currently in demand.

What current trends are you seeing in youth travel, and how is Gap 360 adapting to meet those changing interests?

We’re noticing a growing trend of customers choosing destinations traditionally not associated with backpacking, such as Japan, India, Morocco, and Albania. In particular, young professionals are increasingly looking to make the most of their two-week holidays by booking our group adventure tours to tick off bucket-list experiences. Australia, Thailand, and Bali remain among our top-selling destinations. At Gap 360, we closely monitor social media to stay in tune with what our customers are interested in. This allows us to work with our in-country partners to adapt and develop trips that reflect current travel trends and preferences.

What are some of the most unique or off-the-beaten-track destinations that Gap 360 offers?

Antarctica, Madagascar, Namibia, Uganda, Jordan, the Galapagos Islands and the Stans in Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan).

Since Gap 360 has joined the Intrax family, what new opportunities or synergies are you most excited about?

Since Gap 360 became part of the Intrax family, we’re genuinely excited about the new opportunities and synergies this partnership brings. Being part of a larger global organisation opens the door to valuable collaboration with other businesses within the Intrax group. We’re looking forward to sharing knowledge, ideas, and best practices across the network to strengthen our offerings and improve customer experiences. This partnership also provides access to new

markets, resources, and innovative approaches that will support our long-term growth. Most importantly, we’re excited about the chance to work with like-minded teams who share our passion for youth travel and cultural exchange.

Together, we’re confident that we can take the business to the next level and continue delivering unforgettable adventures for young travellers around the world.
