What inspired you to start WisataSekolah, and how has your vision evolved since 2012?

WisataSekolah was founded in 2012 by Irwan Tamrin, a seasoned professional in experiential& educational tourism with over 20 years of experience. He was driven by the lack of educational content in most study tours across Indonesia. At the time, no school trip organiser prioritised safety or focused on a thematic curriculum.

This led him to establish WisataSekolah, aiming to provide structured, safe, and meaningful outdoor learning experiences. Over the years, it has grown into a trusted partner for schools, including international institutions, ensuring that every trip is not just a journey but a transformative educational experience.

WisataSekolah will continue to lead this transformation by setting high safety standards, developing thematic programmes, and collaborating with educational institutions.

WisataSekolah is also committed to supporting community-based tourism by making tourism villages a key part of student learning. As the demand for outdoor education grows, we aim to expand our reach, innovate with digital learning integration, and provide meaningful, impactful experiences for students.

Are there any new destinations or experiences you plan to introduce in the near future?

WisataSekolah is continuously expanding its offerings to provide students with new, immersive learning experiences. Moving forward, we will focus on Indonesia’s five Super Priority Destinations, aligning with the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia’s vision. Additionally, we aim to showcase Bali’s lesser-known, off-the-beaten-path experiences to promote sustainable tourism and mitigate the effects of mass tourism.

We are also developing eco-learning programmes in tourism villages, supporting community-based tourism, and exploring geopark destinations for hands-on learning. By integrating technology-driven experiences, we ensure that every trip remains educational, impactful, and future-orientated.
