Impactrip makes waves in ocean cleanup
WYSE News | March 21, 2025

Impactrip has recently carried out several volunteer initiatives which have made a measurable impact on ocean health by removing a total of 6,756 kg of marine debris from key coastal areas.

This impressive achievement includes:

  • 2,425 kg removed in Lisbon,
  • 2,859 kg in Barcelona, and
  • 1,472 kg in Split.

Impactrip, a prominent organisation in the field of responsible travel and environmental volunteering, coordinates these programmes to address the growing problem of marine pollution. Their volunteer programmes offer hands-on opportunities to clean up the ocean floor, gain scuba diving certifications, and learn about local marine ecosystems—all while contributing to global conservation efforts.

The results highlight not only the scale of the marine debris problem but also the effectiveness of community-driven environmental action. Organisers emphasise that these initiatives play a critical role in fostering public awareness and sustainable practices to protect marine life for future generations.
