Collective Hospitality Pte Ltd, a leading Singapore-based hospitality owner and operator, has announced the launch of 29 Socialtel properties across South and Central America. This milestone marks the successful rebranding of Selina locations acquired by Collective Hospitality, solidifying the Group’s position as the largest hybrid hotel and hostel operator globally.
The new Socialtel locations span key destinations, including Argentina (Bariloche, Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Salta), Chile (Pucon), Peru (Lima, Cusco Plaza de Armas, Arequipa and Mancora), Colombia (Cartagena, Medellín, Bogotá Candelaria and Bogotá Parque de la 93), Bolivia (La Paz), Ecuador(Baños, Cuenca, Quito and Amazon Tena), Guatemala (Atitlán and Antigua), Nicaragua (Granada and Maderas) and Costa Rica (San Jose, Jaco, Puerto Viejo, La fortuna, Nosara, Monteverde, Santa Teresa South).
“The backpacking trails of Central and South America serve as vibrant pathways connecting SEA and the LATAM, offering unmatched adventure, culture, and discovery..We are excited to announce that 15 to 20 pipeline properties are set to launch in Latin American countries such as Brazil, Panama, and more during the first quarter of 2025. This expansion reinforces our commitment to providing young travelers with exceptional experiences in some of the world’s most iconic destinations” said Gary Murray, CEO of Collective Hospitality.
Socialtel is a next-generation lifestyle brand that bridges the gap between hotels and the community-driven ethos of hostels. Designed for Gen Z and millennials, Socialtel thrives on providing immersive, high-energy urban stays and serene, nature-inspired escapes.
“The transition from Selina to Socialtel reflects our vision to deliver curated experiences that resonate with today’s travelers,” said Mario Fernando, VP Experience & Marketing at Collective Hospitality. “Our properties offer two distinct lines: upbeat, cosmopolitan urban hubs and tranquil, nature-infused getaways. This duality lets us cater to diverse traveler needs while fostering a sense of community through surf camps, nomadic lifestyles, and adventures.”
Socialtel offers 4-star private rooms and social dorms, upscale F&B venues, vibrant public spaces, and social entertainment. Guests can enjoy curated experiences and events that seamlessly blend daylife andnightlife, creating opportunities for connection and adventure around the clock. Feel-young activities reminiscent of hostel culture—like pub crawls, beer bongs, and movie nights—are integrated into Socialtel’s programming, ensuring an energetic and inclusive environment.
Leadership and strategic vision
With a newly appointed senior management team, Collective Hospitality is poised for growth. “Our focus is to reinvigorate the former Selina properties, introducing new products, innovative experiences, and opportunities for our guests and teams,” added Murray. The Group will emphasize driving revenue across rooms, F&B outlets, and tour operations, further enhancing its position as a global leader in hybrid hospitality.”
