Welcome to our new member – Envoys
WYSE News | February 6, 2025

Envoys is a team of educators. We design programmes directly in collaboration with schools to maximise learning for students. Our programmes provide meaningful experiential education for students where they engage in direct and frequent exchanges with local people that build inter-cultural understanding and empathy. Envoys partners with carefully selected experts at home and in our destination countries to ensure the highest-quality education experience on all programmes.

What inspired the creation of Envoys, and how does its approach differ from other experiential education providers?

Envoys was founded in 2013 with the goal of creating educational travel programmes that empower, challenge, and inspire students to become better global citizens. What makes Envoys unique is its use of outdoor educational tools. Unlike other providers, Envoys integrates two key educational frameworks to design transformative and enriching programmes.

With REM (Retention, Engagement, Mentorship), we offer unforgettable experiences, hands-on learning, and mentorship that inspires leadership. At the same time, CIA (Curriculum, Intentionality, Assessment) ensures that our programmes have clear objectives and meaningful outcomes.

Additionally, Envoys combines a deep educational approach with a strong commitment to sustainability and social impact, ensuring that each journey has a purpose beyond academic learning.

How does Envoys collaborate with schools to design programmes that align with their educational objectives?

Envoys works closely with each school to design programmes that align with their educational goals and institutional values. We collaborate with educators to develop itineraries that reinforce classroom learning, integrating reflective activities and hands-on experiences.

Our programmes are designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experiences, fostering global skills such as critical thinking, cultural empathy, and leadership. This ensures that each journey has a meaningful impact on both students and their home communities.

What role do local people play in your programmes, and how do they enhance the educational experience?

Local communities are essential partners in our programmes. We work with local experts and leaders to provide authentic and contextualised perspectives, enriching students’ educational experiences.

By participating in workshops, guided tours, and collaborative projects led by local individuals, students develop a deeper and more respectful understanding of the cultures they visit. This approach not only strengthens learning but also ensures that our activities directly benefit host communities.

Moreover, we strive to deeply explore the destinations we offer, identifying core experiences that allow students to engage with their journey not as tourists but as travellers with a more immersive and meaningful perspective.

Do you have any updates or news you would like to share or highlight?

We are proud to highlight that, as a public benefit corporation, Envoys remains committed to excellence in experiential education and sustainable travel. In line with this mission, we have joined the WYSE Travel Confederation community, reinforcing our purpose of generating a positive impact on students, schools, and communities worldwide.

This achievement reflects our dedication to providing transformative educational experiences, and we are excited to collaborate with other industry leaders to continue inspiring the next generation of global citizens.
