At Stratous Cultural Connections, we specialize in facilitating J-1 visa programs, including Summer/Winter Work and Travel and Intern/Trainee opportunities. Based in South America, we connect international students from Peru, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and China with enriching work experiences in the United States during their school vacations.

1. To add to this above, can you elaborate a little more on who you are and how Stratous Cultural Connections started?

Stratous Cultural Connections was founded by three former J1 SWT program participants who noticed the lack of a truly orientation and accompaniment in the process of this cultural exchange experience for the life of a young university student, and from this, they decided to create a personalized service from an ex programme participant’s perspective.

2. What sets you and your business apart from its competitors?

We are aware of the challenges that come up every year in the programme and are always one step ahead of them. This is one of the reasons why Stratous has become a worldwide agency in less than 10 years.

We are proud to say that we focus in supporting local businesses in the United States where the workforce could not by supplied by locals. We have a team that travels to promote the programme and explain local businesses how they could benefit from bringing J1 visa exchange visitors. This is why, we never lack of host companies for our participants.

3. What kind of support do you offer participants before, during, and after their trip?

We have built a process orientated to the participant’s education about every step of the programme application. In this way, we make sure each participant understands what to expect during their experience abroad.

4. What excites you the most about sending students to participate in summer work and travel programmes abroad?

As founders and former programme participants, it is exciting to help and orient new participants to become part of this journey that we know is a new experience that will change their global perspective, helping them grow professionally and personally.
