SLI International is an exchange agency that was founded in 2011, with two offices in the Dominican Republic and is a founding member of the Agencies Association ADAIC in the Dominican Republic. The agency was established with the goal of providing a unique and distinct service to students, ensuring that they receive the best possible experience. The primary aim of SLI International is to differentiate itself in the market by offering innovative services and opportunities to its clients.
Over the years, SLI International has focused on expanding its reach and exploring new markets. In 2024, the agency is planning to enter the Colombian market, aiming to leverage its experience and passion to provide students in Colombia with exceptional opportunities for cultural exchange and education. By entering the Colombian market, SLI International hopes to further strengthen its presence in the region and continue its growth trajectory.
Through its initiatives and commitment to excellence, SLI International aims to not only provide valuable experiences to students but also to contribute to the growth and development of the exchange industry in the Dominican Republic and beyond.
1. We’d love to hear what sets SLI International apart from its competitors.
Customer service excellence, service quality and innovation, company culture, brand reputation, pricing strategy, sustainability practices, and overall commitment to meeting customer needs and expectations.
2. How does SLI International incorporate cultural immersion opportunities into its programmes?
We design our programs to promote cross-cultural understanding, foster growth, and enhance personal and professional skills through hands-on experiences in different cultural settings. By integrating cultural elements into our programs, we aim to create enriching and transformative experiences for all participants, and come to our country furthermore practice the things they learned during their cultural experience.
3. How do you feel the recent development of AI has affected your organisation and the industry as a whole?
The heavy reliance on artificial intelligence in cultural and labour exchanges can hinder participants’ personal development by limiting hands-on learning opportunities and language practice. Outdated mapping technologies and overdependence on AI may impede full immersion experiences. In the workplace, excessive reliance on AI could potentially suppress critical thinking and problem-solving skills among participants.
4. Do you offer any pre-departure training or resources to prepare travellers for cultural differences and social etiquette in their host countries?
We conduct a pre-orientation session in collaboration with our partners, providing precise details on what to expect upon arrival, how their experience living in the USA during the summer might be, using real examples from other participants who share their stories and providing feedback to those who listen.
