Greenheart International announces Daniel Ebert as President

Aug 20, 2020

For 35 years, Greenheart International has brought international participants to the U.S. through both high school exchange and short-term work-based programs. In recent years, the organization has developed opportunities for English speakers to teach around the world and added a program for international teachers to teach in the United States.

In his new role as President, Daniel will participate in the strategic decisions of the Greenheart organization and be responsible for the oversight and leadership of Greenheart Cultural Exchange operations including Human Resources, International Partner Development, Marketing and Communications. Daniel will continue reporting to Laura Rose, CEO of Greenheart.

Daniel has proven himself to be a strong leader with strategic vision throughout his 20-year career with Greenheart. He began as an intern in the Greenheart Spanish office, then known as CCI Spain. Daniel has been a part of building Greenheart’s numerous program offerings, often from the ground up. He led the creation of Greenheart’s newest cultural exchange offering–Greenheart Exchange’s Teach USA program. Two years ago, Daniel was elevated to COO and became increasingly involved with strategic planning and organizational operations for the entirety of Greenheart.

Viajero Hostels has opened the doors of its new property in Medellín, Colombia’s second largest city. Medellín is the quintessential youth traveller’s preferred travel destination in Colombia due to its perfect year-round weather, great nightlife, entertainment, fantastic food and variety of cultural activities.

Designed and built from scratch, the hostel brings the best quality standards of the biggest European and US brands into Latin America, raising the bar for hostel design and comfort in Colombia. The hostel boasts 200 beds across 51 rooms, rooftop bar, jacuzzis, street-level restaurant open to the public, waterfront patio, co-working spaces and social areas, all featuring artwork by local artists. Designed by one of the country’s leading architect firms, the building itself aims to be the jewel of the up-and-coming neighbourhood and tourist hot-spot, Manila.

The new opening contributes to Viajero’s ambitious expansion plan in Latin America, taking the total number of hostels in Colombia to seven (other cities include Cartagena, Santa Marta, Tayrona, San Andrés, Cali and Salento), and 12 on the continent (with properties in Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Colonia del Sacramento and La Pedrera).
