Alliance Abroad Australia secures sponsorship status of Australia’s 407 training visa

Jul 31, 2019

Leading global cultural exchange provider Alliance Abroad Group (AAG) announced today that its Australian division has been granted sponsorship status of the 407 training visa by the Department of Home Affairs.

The Training Subclass 407 Visa is a short stay visa for people who want to undertake occupational training or professional development in Australia.

Over the past decade AAG has developed a strong portfolio of programs that offer working holiday makers, students and young professionals from around the world the opportunity to obtain a cultural exchange experience in Australia.

With the launch of AAG’s Trainee Program, individuals who are seeking a career in tourism and hospitality and have 1-2 years’ work experience have the ability to come to Australia and follow an individual workplace training plan that allows them to build their resume and enhance their skills.

Jennifer Woodbridge, Regional Director of AAG said “we are absolutely delighted to have secured sponsorship status of the 407 visa.  Our Trainee program will add a new dimension to our offering, enabling young people who don’t have access to the Working Holiday Maker visa to visit Australia and enhance their skills”.

According to Tourism Australia, in 2018 there were 2.3 million youth visitors to Australia and in year ending March 2019, just over 300,000 visited the country on a Working Holiday Maker (WHM) visa.  Whilst the WHM visa has been a long-standing success story for the inbound youth tourism industry, it is restricted to 44 countries and capped in some.  The 407 visa does not have any country restrictions or caps.

Jennifer Woodbridge commented “we believe that the 407 visa provides a huge opportunity for inbound youth visitation to Australia.  We have already been inundated with partnership requests from international agents from around the world that have candidates ready to come to Australia on our Trainee program.  Our team is working hard to mobilize and welcome our first participants in the next few weeks”.
