Giving travellers a more authentic glimpse of Indonesia
WYSE News | May 28, 2019

With the aim of providing youth travellers with a real feel of what the country has to offer, The Dragon Trip has created a range of new budget backpacking tours, taking 18 to 35-year olds across Indonesia. The travellers, or ‘Dragons’, have the chance to visit the country’s hidden gems, from the restaurants picked out by the local guides to learning the regional Bahasa language through the many language classes included.

“It’s about being open-minded, meeting new people, sharing genuine experiences and living life like the locals. Everything we do – from researching trips to running them – aims to give our Dragons a truly authentic taste of the eye-opening places we visit”, explains Alex Siegel, Co-Director of The Dragon Trip.

The tours have been introduced with the youth traveller in mind; budget-friendly and offering the opportunity to experience a lesser-known side of Indonesia: from trekking through the jungle in search of orangutans in North Sumatra to island hopping around the Komodo Islands on a live-aboard boat.
