Interview with Glenn Abel, CEO & Andrew Wolpe, President & COO

Tell us your story. How did Magnifi Group, Inc.get started?

Magnifi was started in 2002 as a content development company focussed on the medical device industry. We were issued our first patent in 2005 for a revolutionary technique to demonstrate surgical animations. Clearly we have evolved since that time. In 2008, we launched our Learn-Wise LMS with a continued focus on the medical industry. In 2017, we launched a new LMS, Learn-WiseGo, in order to provide clients and their trainees with an enhanced, gamified, engaging, and mobile-friendly online learning experience. This new solution also gave us the tools to focus on other industries including the youth and student travel market.

What makes Magnifi Group, Inc. different from your competitors?

We are a technology company with a huge focus on customer support. While our platform technologically exceeds industry standards and provides more features than the rest of the industry, we believe it is our hands-on, live support that continues to win over our customers. We couple this with our focus on a specific set of industries in order to deliver the finest end package to our customers.

What is your favourite success story from your organisation?

We started working with one of the largest medical device companies in the world to host, deliver and track their global eLearning. The requirement for multiple language support followed very soon after we signed the contract. We were able to implement a multi-lingual solution within 45 days of the request.

What can we expect to see from Magnifi Group, Inc.in the future?

We are nearing completion of the most comprehensive interactive curriculum developed specifically for the youth and student travel industry. The curriculum will be included within our Learn-WiseGo eLearning platform.

Which trends do you see in educational and active youth travel?

We are seeing companies identify the value of eLearning; not only from a ROI perspective, but also to be compliant in critical areas such as Risk Management.

How do you work to ensure the health and safety of young travellers involved with Magnifi Group, Inc.?

Our goal is to provide tour operators and other industry players the technology to ensure that a high level of training is delivered across all parties to minimise the health and safety risks for the travellers.

What was your motivation to join WYSE Travel Confederation?

We are new to this industry and after much research determined that WYSE Travel Confederation would be our most credible partner. We are also looking forward to exhibiting at the WYSE area at ITB Berlin in March 2019.

Have you attended a WYSE Travel Confederation event? (World Youth and Student Travel Conference, STAY WYSE, WYSE Exchange Australia, WETM-IAC) If so, what was your experience with the event?

Not yet – but we plan on attending in 2019.

What is an industry challenge your organisation is facing at this time?

eLearning is not a new concept. However, we are finding that very few organisations in the youth and student travel industry have implemented such a solution. Our biggest challenge is educating the industry on the significant ROI that will be rapidly realised after implementing a Learning Management System.
