Welcome to our newest member – DREAM Hostels

Oct 25, 2018

Interview with Ievgen Lavreniuk, Founder

Tell us your story. How did DREAM Hostels get started?

We opened the first hostel back in 2011. Our dream came true, so we called it Dream Hostel. It took us six months to open the first hostel and it’s still the fastest we did.

What makes DREAM Hostels different from your competitors?

Our people are what give our guests the best experience, that’s why we pay real attention to those that we hire and don’t just fill gaps in a schedule. We may search for a year or more to find the right person sometimes.

What is your favourite success story from your organisation?

We have some partners that we have known from the very beginning. They have been growing a lot over the years and expanding together with us. Like a Polish language school that is now opening its new office in Prague along with our latest hostel.

What can we expect to see from DREAM Hostels in the future?

More Dream Hostels in Eastern and Central Europe and many more happy guests.

Which trends do you see in educational and active youth travel?

Technological innovations, active communication between people around the world and growing demand on new experiences – all of this is preparing us for new projects and new achievements. We are constantly developing to be ahead of the trends in this unbelievably interesting industry.

How do you work to ensure the health and safety of young travellers involved with DREAM Hostels?

Except for the fact that we follow and often exceed all of the industry standards to keep our guests safe, we also offer 24/7 connection to the reception for anyone who is staying with us. There is always someone to help to find a good breakfast place or get help on the way in case of emergency.

What was your motivation to join WYSE Travel Confederation?

We already work with some WYSE members, so we we’re well aware of the good name of the organisation. We are now looking to meet more of the members, so don’t be shy and introduce yourselves!

Have you attended a WYSE Travel Confederation event? If so, what was your experience with the event?

Not yet, but as new members we are looking forward to attending STAY WYSE conference in Amsterdam.

The biggest hostel chain in Eastern Europe, operating in Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia and starting in Prague in December 2018.

When building our hostels, we make sure they are not only clean and safe, but have an atmosphere where it is possible to meet other travellers and dreamers. We create a space where you can relax and get a good night’s sleep after a long day of exploring, complete with friendly staff that can offer local insight to inspire you along your journey. Our bartenders and staff are happy to chat in the evenings while you mingle with other guests over delicious seasonal cocktails or discover a new book in our common spaces. DREAM Hostels are created for people who look at the world with open eyes, wonder at limitless possibilities, and try to live to the fullest rather than those who follow a beaten path and avoid life’s complexities. Dreamers do not run away from reality, but rather change their surroundings for a more fulfilling life.
