The World Youth & Student Travel Conference will be held in the Irish capital from 23-26 September 2014 at the Convention Centre Dublin. With youth travel high on the agenda for Failte Ireland, the country’s national tourism board, the fun, friendly city of Dublin will be the stage for the world’s essential youth travel industry event next year.

wystcWYSE Travel Confederation announced at its Annual General Meeting held in Sydney Australia, that the host city for WYSTC 2014 will be Dublin. After receiving a number of interesting proposals, the bid put forward by Failte Ireland, which drew on the support of the Dublin Convention Bureau, was chosen as the successful location.

Leo Varadkar said “As Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport I am responsible for supporting the growth of a competitive and sustainable tourism industry and I am, therefore, delighted to support Dublin in its bid to host the World Youth Student Travel Conference at the Convention Centre Dublin in 2014.”

Dublin is well suited for international conferences, boasting world-class hotels and restaurants and of course a lively entertainment scene. The Convention Centre Dublin opened just three years ago and in between educational seminars and a multitude of business appointments, delegates attending WYSTC 2014 will be able to admire excellent views of the River Liffey, Dublin City Centre and the Wicklow Mountains from the Centre’s unique glass-fronted atrium.

David Chapman, Director General of WYSE Travel Confederation said: “We’re delighted that Dublin will be the host for WYSTC 2014. Faiilte Ireland and the Dublin Convention Bureau have put forward an excellent bid and we’re confident that delegates from around the world will enjoy the best of Irish hospitality while doing business at WYSTC”.
