Hostelling international (HI) is the only global network of youth hostel associations. In total, HI offers over 3,500 hostels in 90 countries worldwide. All HI hostels meet assured standards, which guarantee good quality and safe accommodation in friendly surroundings. HI also run a membership savings programme, offering 4 million individual members special offers and savings on accommodation as well as on activities and transport.
Despite a global economic crisis and social problems in many key destinations, the past 18 months have seen hihostels.com remain a popular booking engine and a source of information for young international travelers and their changing needs. Last year saw the start of the biggest digital development in HI’s history and HI will see the launch and the results of this project in the next few months. HI has also stayed active in the areas of sustainability, quality and mission based activities.
